Give all 5 songs some practice on your own before our group rehearsal. After practice we’ll have our first staging/costuming team meeting, and we’ll start game planning how the cantata is going to *look*.

    A note from the director

We’ll be attempting to do the final 5 songs in the Cantata in this rehearsal. Give the tracks a listen before hand to be well prepared! Remember – our limited rehearsal time is for trying to “bring the choir together” – not learn the songs! After practice – anyone interested in a solo can stay after to work with me to refine your performance before the audition.

Our first REAL full vocal run through of the entire cantata. Time to find out what we’re made of! Auditions for solos will be held immediately following rehearsal. Even if you’re not trying out – if you can stay to provide the “choir” element behind the soloists – it would be much apprecated.

Another full run through of the entire work – this time WITH soloists AND narrators! This is the first run through of the work in it’s “final form” for stage. Staging team will meet after rehearsal to finalize any remaining details before our first two hour staging rehearsal.

  2. Wed9
    Wednesday, December 9Required to perform

    9th Rehearsal

    When7–9 PMWhoEveryone
Full run-throughThe whole work, start to finish.
    A note from the director

This rehearsal is our two hour staging rehearsal where staging directions are given out to all members of the cast. We’ll also try to get in a full run through if time allows. This one always involves a lot of standing and waiting as I’m giving out directions – so wear your comfy shoes.

If you absolutely can not make this rehearsal – make sure you’re here for the Saturday rehearsal on the 12th so you know where to stand and what to do in the performance!

  3. Sat12
    Saturday, December 12Required to perform

    10th Rehearsal

    When1–3 PMWhoEveryone
Full run-throughThe whole work, start to finish.
    A note from the director

This is our performance/dress rehearsal, and also our only Saturday rehearsal. We will attempt to build on the staging rehearsal with a full run through of the final show in full performance attire/costumes. Attendance is very, very, VERY much desired if at all possible. This is when the final “end product” comes together!

If you absolutely can not make this rehearsal – make sure you come to the practice on the 9th so you know where to stand and what to do in the performance!

  4. Sun13
    Sunday, December 13

    11th (optional-ish) Rehearsal

    When1–3 PMWhoEveryone
Full run-throughThe whole work, start to finish.
    A note from the director

Depending on how well the rehearsal the day before went (Saturday) – this practice *may* be cancelled if not needed. In the past few years we usually ended up having this for the people that we’re not able to make it to the Saturday rehearsal, and to give the tech team time to set the lighting/audio/visual levels and cues.
